How Monetary Rewards Can Demotivate Creative Works #edchat

A very interesting article on monetary rewards and creative works. I have seen the results of this study before, but what makes this different is the incredible video put together to illustrate the results. This study is often used to fight the concept of merit pay in education. Unfortunately, I don't think that is the point of the study. I truly believe most educators are against the method of implementation of merit pay or pay for performance--not the concept of being rewarded for doing a great job. I don't believe you need a study to come to the conclusion that if you don't receive ANY rewards then your job performance will suffer compared to what it could have been!
